Karin Reithofer holds an MA in interpreting from the University of Graz, an MA in conference interpreting from the University of Westminster and wrote her PhD thesis on English as a lingua franca and interpreting at the University of Vienna where she was part of the QuaSI (Quality in simultaneous interpreting) research team (lead researcher: Franz Pöchhacker).
She taught interpreting at Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania, and in Graz, and is now a senior lecturer at Vienna University.
She is also a freelance interpreter, working mostly for the EU institutions, with an accreditation for English, Italian, Spanish and Romanian.
